Harvester or PV modules (25 V, 20 Watt version)

Function

Switchbox

The Harvester Converts Power from a Solar module to charge a battery.
The Solar Module Input is loaded at its Optimal Power Point (MPPT).
The Harvester works from an input voltage VIN>6V to VIN<25V.
The Harvester limits the Input Power to Maximum PIN<20W, depending on the Input Voltage.

Stop Charge

Charging stops if the output voltage is higher than VOUT>12.4V.
Charging stops if the Board Temperature > 80C.

Typical Application

Description

Harvester Application

The minimum Application is Connecting the PV Module to the Input and the Battery to the Output of the Harvester.
When Installing, FIRST Connect the Battery at the Output of the Harvester. When Uninstalling, First Disconnect the Solar Module.
Be Carefull to Connect the Battery at the Correct Polarity.
The Harvester Starts when the Input Voltage is Higher than 6V. Maximum Power (20W) is can be Achieved if the Input Voltage is higher than 12V.

Optional: Battery Temperature Monitor

A 100kohm NTC resistor (e.g. Vishay NTCS0805E3104GXT) can be Connected to PNTC1 Port to measure the Battery Temperature.
Charging stops if Temperature < 0C or > 70C.
Connect PNTC1 by Jumper if not Used.

Optional: External Temperature Monitor

A 100kohm NTC resistor (e.g. Vishay NTCS0805E3104GXT) can be Connected to PNTC2 Port to measure the External Temperature.
Charging stops if Temperature > 80C.
Connect PNTC2 by Jumper if not Used.

Optional: Heartbeat LED

A 5V LED Drive is available at PSEL5 Port, Use a Resistor to Control LED Current (max 20mA).
The PSEL5 port is LOW during Active Harvesting. The PSEL5 port is HIGH during the measurements.
If Charging stops, PSEL5 is HIGH. Leave PSEL5 Port Open if not Used.
